Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Studoo ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on [studoo.co.uk](https://www.studoo.co.uk), including the student, parent and tutor areas. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
Studoo is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we use the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage (for example, to remember your cookie choice) and session tokens used for security. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of these.
3. Your choices
When you first visit Studoo, we show a banner so you can choose Essential only or Accept all.
- Essential only: we use only what is strictly necessary to run the service, keep you signed in and remember your choice.
- Accept all: we also load Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to understand how our site is used.
You can change your choice at any time using the preferences control at the top of this page. Withdrawing consent stops optional analytics from loading on future visits.
If you choose Accept all, optional analytics can load on later visits, including after you sign in. If you choose Essential only, it does not load.
4. Cookies and technologies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These are needed for Studoo to work and to keep it secure. Under UK law they do not require consent.
| Name / type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Authentication session cookies (e.g. sb-*) | Supabase | Keep students, parents and tutors securely signed in | For the signed-in session, until you sign out or the session expires |
studoo_cookie_consent (local storage) | Studoo | Remembers your cookie choice | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| Hosting and security tokens | Vercel | Route traffic, protect against abuse and deliver pages reliably | As set by Vercel for delivery and security |
| Checkout and billing portal cookies | Stripe | Process family and tutor subscription payments securely, including fraud prevention | Set by Stripe |
4.2 Optional analytics (only if you accept)
| Name / type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics page views and site usage, to help us improve the site | Up to 2 years | |
| Vercel Web Analytics | Vercel | Aggregated page views and performance data, to help us improve the site | As set by Vercel |
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland / Google LLC. For details, see How Google uses information from sites that use Google services. Vercel Web Analytics is designed to avoid cross-site tracking. For details, see Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information. If you choose Essential only, we do not load these scripts.
4.3 What we do not use
- Advertising cookies or behavioural advertising networks.
- Social media pixels or retargeting.
- Any tracking for advertising in areas used by children.
If we add new types of cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of Studoo, especially signing in and the student, parent and tutor dashboards, will not work. Your browser's help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others) explain how.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change our site, providers or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
