Terms of Service

1. Who we are and these terms

1.1 Studoo is operated by Frsh Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16882724, whose registered office is at 128, City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom ("Studoo", "we", "us", "our").

1.2 These Terms of Service apply to everyone who uses Studoo ("the Service"), including parents, guardians, students and website visitors. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1.3 Tutors and tuition centres: if you use Studoo as a tutor, our Tutor Terms and Conditions also apply and take priority over these terms for your tutor account.

2. The Service

2.1 Studoo is an online platform to help children in Years 4 to 6 prepare for UK 11+ grammar school entrance exams. It includes:

  • Maths practice questions (3,000+), with more subjects (English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning) coming soon;
  • progress tracking, analytics and behavioural insights;
  • a parent dashboard, including weekly trends and AI-generated action plans; and
  • gamified learning features such as XP and streaks.

2.2 Studoo is a supplementary learning tool. Insights and action plans are guidance to support you, not a professional diagnosis or assessment of your child. We do not guarantee any exam result or school place.

3. Accounts

3.1 You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3.2 Family accounts are created by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. The parent or guardian is responsible for their child's use of Studoo and agrees to it on the child's behalf.

3.3 Tutor-invited accounts. If your child joins Studoo through an invitation or join code from their tutor, the tutor manages that access and decides what is shared with them. The tutor is responsible for obtaining your agreement where required. You can contact the tutor, or us, if you have questions.

3.4 Please tell us promptly at support@studoo.co.uk if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.

4. Free trial, subscriptions and payments (family plans)

4.1 Free trial. New family accounts may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. We will tell you before the trial ends. Unless you cancel before the end of the trial, your subscription will start and you will be charged the price shown when you signed up.

4.2 Plans and prices. Family subscriptions are available on monthly or annual billing. Current prices are shown on our website at the time you subscribe. Prices are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4.3 Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. For annual plans, we will send you a reminder before renewal. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change, which will apply from your next renewal.

4.4 Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.

5. Cancellation and refunds

5.1 Your 14-day right to cancel. If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of the day your paid subscription starts. If you cancel within this period, we will refund what you have paid, less a proportionate amount for the time you had access to the paid Service. If you took a free trial, the 14 days run from the start of your paid subscription.

5.2 Cancelling at any other time. You can cancel at any time through your account settings or by emailing support@studoo.co.uk. You will keep access until the end of the billing period you have paid for. Apart from section 5.1, we do not refund partial billing periods.

5.3 Faulty service. If the Service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, or does not match its description, you may have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

5.4 To request a refund, contact support@studoo.co.uk.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • share your account login with anyone outside your household;
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other accounts;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service;
  • copy, modify, distribute or sell Studoo content without our permission, or use it to train AI models;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated systems to access the Service; or
  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

7. Intellectual property

7.1 All content on Studoo, including questions, explanations, graphics, logos and software, belongs to Studoo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your family's personal, non-commercial educational use. Tutors' commercial use is governed by our Tutor Terms.

8. Availability and changes to the Service

8.1 We will use reasonable care and skill to provide the Service, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free from errors. We may carry out maintenance, which we will try to schedule at quiet times.

8.2 We may update and improve the Service. If we make a change that significantly reduces the main features of your paid subscription, we will tell you, and you may cancel and receive a refund for any unused prepaid period.

9. Our responsibility to you

9.1 If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We only provide the Service for domestic and private use, and we are not liable for any business losses.

9.2 If you use Studoo for business, the limitations in our Tutor Terms apply.

9.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account if the account holder seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, or where we reasonably need to in order to protect children, other users or the Service. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to put things right first. If we close a paid account without good reason, we will refund any unused prepaid period.

11. Your data after closing your account

When you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we need to keep certain records by law (for example, billing records). See our Privacy Policy for details.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about significant changes by email or in the Service before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts of your home nation.
